4 friends go backpacking to the Western Himalayan region of Ladakh in winter. We never saw temperatures above zero for the 2 weeks that we were in Ladakh. Our trip started with a 3 day acclimatization at Leh followed by a day trip to Sangam, Lamayuru and Alchi. Then, we went towards the Changthang Cold Desert where we visited Tangste, Pangong Tso, Mahe and Hanle. Then, we went to Khardungla and Nubra Valley. Then, we spent the remaining part of the trip in Zanskar Valley, Hemis High Altitude National Park and Leh.
